Jungled Temple of Beng Mealea & Floating Village
Beng Mealea, indeed, is a remarkable temple that offers a unique glimpse into the past. Located 65km from Siem Reap Town, it's known for its wild beauty where nature has taken over the ancient structures. Built in the early 12th century during the reign of King Suryavarman II, it shares the same architectural style as the iconic Angkor Wat. Kompong Kleang, on the other hand, is an impressive community on Tonle Sap Lake, known for its stilted houses that rise above the water. it's one of the largest communities on the lake, home to over 10,000 people. The village adapts to the seasonal changes in water level, which is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of its residents. Both Beng Mealea and Kompong Kleang are must-visit destinations for those looking to explore the history and culture of Cambodia beyond the well-trodden paths.
